50 Years of Technical Ceramics - CeramTec UK in Ruabon

A proud anniversary for our colleagues in Wrexham, Wales.

In August 2025, our colleagues at the Ruabon site in Wales had a very special reason to celebrate: the site celebrated its 50th anniversary – half a century of technical ceramics “Made in Ruabon”!

The story began in 1975 with Allied Insulators, which at the time manufactured high-performance capacitors and piezo components. Over the following decades, the site underwent several name and structural changes – from Unilator Technical Ceramics to Morgan Matroc Limited to Morgan Electro Ceramics. A significant milestone followed in 2017: With the acquisition of Morgan's piezo division, the site became part of the CeramTec family and has since been operating as CeramTec UK Limited.

Today, CeramTec employs 186 people in Ruabon and manufactures piezo ceramics, capacitors, and dielectric ceramics using state-of-the-art processes. These products are used in a wide range of applications, from household appliances to industrial applications. We are particularly proud of one of our latest innovations: the CeramSense® flow sensor, which works reliably in smart ultrasonic water meters under a wide range of conditions.

“I am incredibly proud of the performance and innovative strength of our site. Who we are today is only possible thanks to the dedication and hard work of our employees – a big THANK YOU! to the entire team!” said Paul Jones, Director of Operations at CeramTec UK.

We congratulate the Ruabon site on its anniversary and wish it continued success, a bright future, and many more years of growth and innovation!
